Joe Biden Is Coming to Harvard This Spring
“Diamond Joe” is coming to Harvard.
Former Vice President Joe Biden will be the featured speaker at the school’s Class Day on May 24, one day before Facebook founder and Harvard dropout Mark Zuckerberg is set to deliver the commencement address.
“I am honored to be invited to be a part of this special day at Harvard. Today’s generation of students is the most engaged, the most tolerant, and the best educated in the history of the United States of America,” Biden said in a release Wednesday. “I am grateful for the opportunity to speak to this year’s graduating class about the great power they hold to shape our nation’s future.”
Biden was last in Boston in October, to discuss his Cancer Moonshot initiative at Dorchester’s Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate. The longtime Delaware senator also visited the Harvard Kennedy School’s Institute of Politics in 2014.
Past Class Day speakers have included Facebook executive Sheryl Sandberg, actresses Natalie Portman and Rashida Jones, and former President Bill Clinton.
