Bostonians Read Twitter’s Finest Super Bowl Trash Talk
Just a little rivalry with our sister publication, Philadelphia magazine.
Ordinarily, our interactions with our sister publication, Philadelphia magazine, are collaborative and friendly. A true pal, you might say. But then the Eagles managed to make it to the Super Bowl and the trash talking started. While we expect to return to our formerly convivial ways soon (maybe after a few wounds have healed, and a few MVP awards have been handed out), we did decide that we wanted a little help backing up our well-proven theory that Tom Brady is the G.O.A.T. and this Super Bowl will be just another day of the New England Patriots doing their job. Which is winning. All the time. Last year, too. Probably next year, as well, if we’re being honest.
In the meantime, though, we asked a few prominent locals to share a message for Philly, including City Council Tim McCarthy, comedian Lamont Price, and Zoo New England CEO John Linehan, who went beyond trash talk. He has a bet with the Philadelphia Zoo going on: If the Patriots win, the next goat born there will be named Brady, and if the Eagles win, you’ll be able to visit a little goat named Foles here. So either way, there will be a cute baby goat, which might be the most win/win aspect of the Super Bowl.
And hey, welcome to the Super Bowl, Eagles. What’s it been, one year? No? 13? OK.
And if you’d like to see what they had to say to the Patriots, take a peek below.
