Bruce Springsteen’s Four-Hour Concert Cost Gillette Stadium a $22,000 Fine

Who’s going to be the one to tell the Boss to wrap it up?

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band rocked Gillette Stadium last week with a set that lasted more than four hours by one estimate. Though the town of Foxborough extended its curfew from 11:15 p.m. to 11:30, New Jersey’s favorite son and patron saint of schlubby sportswriters everywhere played from 7:56 to 11:54.

Longtime E Street Band guitarist Steve Van Zandt foreshadowed the incident on Twitter, telling a fan the night before, “We don’t do curfews.”

Foxboro town manager Bill Keegan said the Kraft Group delivered a check covering the $22,429 fine before the town even had to ask, reports the Sun-Chronicle. “There was no controversy,” he said. “They just did it.”

In addition to the fine, Keegan said there was one noise complaint, but that it was reported early in the four-hour show.
