Meet MaRKeT's Jennifer Allen
After working for several years as a visual merchandiser at Baker Knapp & Tubbs in the Boston Design Center, Dorchester native Jennifer Allen decided to launched MaRKeT, a roving lifestyle boutique based in the South End. Through her traveling shop, she offers an eclectic array of vintage and modern furnishings and wares. Jennifer designed MaRKeT to be approachable, youthful, and affordable. Her tabletop pieces are $100 or less and furniture is always priced $1,000 or less.
Jennifer’s what you might call a “city picker”—she scours the streets and flea markets for unique finds, which she then repurposes or refurbishes with thick coats of paint or new upholstering. Her tastes run part modern, part nostalgic, always with a contemporary edge.
Though MaRKeT isn’t brick-and-mortar yet, it appears regularly at SOWA Vintage Market and at pop-up shops throughout Boston. Go to MaRKeT’s Facebook page for the latest locations, or follow Jennifer on MrktHome’s Instagram as she posts her latest finds.
MaRKeT also offers home consultation, sourcing, interior styling, event décor and styling, floral design, personal shopping, and home staging.
