Mark Your Calendars for Room and Board’s Floor Sample Sale

If all that time home for the holidays made you realize that you need a new sofa (or rug, or dining table), then take comfort in the fact that Room and Board‘s Floor Sample Sale, where discontinued items sell for 20 to 50 percent off, starts December 26.

There are two ways to shop the sale: online, where discontinued items are discounted and sell out quickly, and in store, where they’re looking to clear out a mix of discontinued items and current floor samples are on sale. Last year, at the Newbury Street store’s first annual sale, people lined up around the block for the American-made furniture.

In store, items are priced based on their current condition. Hunt for red tags that show if an the item is reduced because it’s coming off display, or because it’s on clearance, meaning it could be reduced online as well. Pro tip: Check the inventory online ahead of time—if an item is marked “Discontinued 12/26,” it will likely be part of the sale.

Special store hours for Saturday, December 26, are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Regular hours on Sunday, December 27, are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
