It’s the last call for folks earning between $64,650 and $198,000 to move into a brand-new apartment building near North Station. The Beverly, Boston’s first all-affordable apartment complex in 25 years, is accepting applications for one more week.
The building will be made up of 239 affordable and “workforce” units. Workforce housing, or below-market rentals available to a wide income bracket, is meant to fulfill the housing needs of the city’s middle earners. The Beverly’s workforce units will range from studios to three-bedrooms, with rents starting at $1,940 per month.
Affordable units will make up the remaining 20 percent of the building, and are available to households with annual incomes ranging from $17,578 to $60,000. Affordable unit rents start at $492 per month.
“The Beverly gives residents the opportunity to enjoy top-level amenities in an incredible location, and helps meet the needs of the professionals that make our city great,” said Related Beal president Kimberly Sherman Stamler in a statement. Related Beal is the real estate firm developing the Beverly.
Like other luxury buildings in the area, the pet-friendly apartments at the Beverly showcase views of the skyline, the harbor, and the Greenway. There’s access to an outdoor terrace with grills, a fitness center, an entertainment room, and a children’s room, as well as bike storage and on-site parking.
In a press release, the development is touted as “an incredible opportunity for Bostonians at a variety of income levels to live in the heart of the city at an affordable rent.”
Applications for a January 2018 move-in date must be obtained by prospective renters by August 30, 2017, and submitted by September 6, 2017. Information is available at thebeverlyboston.com.
