The 10 Prettiest Homes to Hit the Market in 2017

Every day, we feature an extraordinary home for sale in our “On the Market” series, and this year, we’ve highlighted hundreds of examples of the most eye-catching real estate in town. But even among the standouts, there are standouts.

Out of all of the “On the Market” posts published in 2017, 10 of them garnered a good deal of attention. A few of those top 10 buoyed above the rest—the two most popular homes were located not on Boston’s streets but its wharves. Indeed, the most-viewed real estate stories this year were about houseboats, with one in Quincy and another in Charlestown.

Three open and airy lofts turned some heads, as did several homes in Beacon Hill and the North End. Two dwellings outside the Greater Boston area made the most popular list, too: a log cabin in New Hampshire and a lake house in Lunenberg, Mass.
