No longer just bright lights for a big city, neon has made its way off the marquee and into stylish homes. Blending function and fun, it’s a way to brighten a space while quite literally making a statement. Jake Rosenfield, of New Hampshire’s Atlantic Neon Company, has been creating custom pieces like this one for the past 14 years. He uses pastel tones to add a soft glow to a room, as opposed to the intense reds and greens typical to neon signs. “It’s not meant to be a glaring announcement,” he says. “When I’m doing work for someone’s home, I’m taking the medium of neon glass and using it to evoke a feeling of warmth.” Plug one in and let those walls talk.
