Even though Betty Crocker wasn’t a real person, Norwell natives know this gambrel Cape as the “Betty Crocker House.” In the late 1930s and early 1940s, the woman behind the Betty Crocker brand resided there. A businesswoman and nutritionist, Janette Kelley helped to create the fictional homemaker and ran the test kitchen for General Mills.

The house was built in 1681 and boasts a spacious living room in the former carriage barn and a sunroom off of the kitchen leading to a brick courtyard filled with perennials. Outside, there’s a chicken coop, a storage shed, and a large, grassy expanse in the backyard.
