Night Owl: Late-Night Cookie Deliveries from City Baked
If you’re ordering delivery after a certain time of night, expectations usually need to be severely lowered. No doubt there’s a time and place for greasy pizza, calzones, and Chinese take-out. But for those with a late-night sweet tooth were pretty much screwed. Until the arrival of City Baked, that is, a freshly baked cookie delivery service that brings boxes of sweet, chewy goodness right to your doorstep.
Priced at about a dollar a cookie, City Baked sticks to the classics—Chocolate Chip, M&M, Sweet Sugar, Oatmeal Raisin, Peanut Butter Blast, or Double Chocolate Chip—and they do them well. After ordering, usually within an hour, you’ll have a box full of warm cookies. Short of having grandma whip up a batch of cookies, these are about as good as it gets.
The cookies are all essentially built the same way, seemingly with the same drop batter with different mix-ins and ingredients. They’re all delicious, but the straight-up chocolate chip is the most special in an instant gratification kind of way. The large chunks of whole peanuts in the Peanut Butter Blast places them on the unique end of the spectrum. Pro tip: Wash them down with a glass of milk (they can deliver that, too) or a pint of local Abbot’s ice cream (also a delivery option). It’s simple, yet there’s something so gratifying about a late-night treat of warm cookies delivered right to your door.
