A Look Inside the Mandarin Oriental’s Bar Boulud

The Mandarin Oriental has released the first renderings for Daniel Boulud‘s highly anticipated new restaurant in Boston. The third outpost of his casual French-inspired bistro, Bar Boulud, is set to open sometime in September. Adam D. Tihany of Tihany Design conceptualized the project, which will boast a 17-seat zinc top bar, a glass enclosed wine cellar, and a seven-seat marble charcuterie counter featuring the work of head charcutier, Gilles Verot. Seating includes a 10-top communal table, 55-seat bar and lounge space, and a 68-seat main dining room with a row of burgundy leather booths.

Tihany’s design is the third collaboration with Boulud and the fourteenth with the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. Bar Boulud’s Boston location maintains a similar contemporary look as Boulud’s original location on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, and the second location in London. Heading up Bar Boulud’s newest menu will be chef de cuisine Aaron Chambers, who has worked under Boulud for six years, most recently at Boulud Sud in New York .
