Barbara Lynch Hosting ‘Full Plate’ Series at Menton
Chef Barbara Lynch continues her “Full Plate” lunch series on September 25 at Menton with Adrianne Haslet-Davis, ballroom dancer and Boston Marathon bombings survivor. Taking place on the final Thursday of every month, “Full Plate” brings together female professionals of different industries, disciplines, and career stages to unearth the knowledge and experiences of successful women. In addition to a three-course meal, “Full Plate” provides influential guest speakers and unique networking opportunities. Following Haslet-Davis on the September 25, speakers will include Advanced Sake Professional and O Ya proprietor Nancy Cushman on October 30, as well as Barbara Lynch herself on November 20.
“Women often lack female mentors as they rise in their careers, and it is unusual to find a female peer group once reaching the upper ranks,” says Lynch via a press release. “It is easy for women in today’s working environment to feel isolated. The phrase ‘it’s lonely at the top’ rings very true for women—but it can also be lonely in the middle and at the bottom.”
This past year, guest speakers have included renowned presidential historian Doris Kearns Goodwin (The Bully Pulpit: Theodore Roosevelt); Ann Veneman, former executive director of Unicef and Secretary of Agriculture under George W. Bush; and Tuti Scott, former chief development officer and co-CEO for the Women’s Sports Foundation.
$75 per person, includes program, three-course lunch and gratuity, 11:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m., Sept. 25; Oct. 30; and Nov. 20, 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., 354 Congress St., Boston; 617-737-0099 or mentonboston.com.
