Hill Farmstead Once Again Rated World’s Best
For the second time in three years, Greensboro, Vermont’s Hill Farmstead Brewery has been named Best Brewery in the World by RateBeer, the world’s largest beer review and rating website. In addition to taking top honors in the Best Brewery category, founder Shaun Hill had seven beers listed as the top 100 in the world, and six honored in the Top 50 New Releases category. Hill’s secondary brand, Grassroots Brewing, also received some recognition with two nods in the best beers in the world category.
Hill Farmstead beat out such decorated breweries as Mikkeller in Copenhagen, Three Floyds in Indiana, Alesmith in San Diego (rated number one in 2014), and California’s Russian River Brewing. Other New England breweries joining Hill in the top 100 include Allagash (Maine), Clown Shoes (Ipswich, Mass.), Lawson’s Finest Liquids (Vermont), The Alchemist (Vermont), Tree House (Monson, Mass.), Maine Beer Co., Smuttynose (New Hampshire), and Trillium in Fort Point.
