Food Trucks: A Perfect Mother’s Day Alternative
Mother’s Day might be synonymous with mimosas and omelets, but for those looking for interesting brunch alternatives this year, look no further than the 107th Annual Lilac Sunday celebration, where over 20 of the city’s best food trucks will be serving everything from French macaroons to fall-off-the-bone barbecue. For one day only, Harvard University’s Arnold Arboretum will allow picnicking, so attendees can enjoy their food truck spoils among the blooming spring scenery.
In addition to the food trucks, there will also be children’s activities, and ongoing tours of the Arboretum’s lilac collection. Lilac Sunday runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with tours and events taking place throughout the northern portion of the Arboretum, within short walking distance of the Arborway Gate, Forest Hills Gate, Centre Street Gate, and South Street Gate. There is no admission fee at the Arboretum and Lilac Sunday is a free, dog-friendly event, though donations and membership gifts are always welcome.
