Early this summer, you’ll see a different side to La Morra owners Josh and Jennifer Ziskin as the husband-and-wife team turn their attention away from all those Italian wood-grilled delicacies and hand-made pastas (yes, even Tom Brady’s prized bolognese), and set their sights on a new farm-to-table concept called Heritage of Sherborn. Located inside the historic Sherborn Inn, the Ziskins are describing their latest project as a “farm-inspired,” new American restaurant that combines a fine dining space with a gastropub, wedding and events venue, a four-room boutique hotel, full-service catering department, and retail store featuring wine, coffee, grab-and-go items, and craft cider from fellow Sherborn outfit, Stormalong.
After purchasing the 18th century inn earlier this year, the Ziskin’s have completely revamped the space, and are set to launch their modernized, all-in-one concept in early June. Heritage of Sherborn will showcase two distinctly different menus, each utilizing local and seasonal ingredients unique to New England. Open for dinner seven nights a week, Heritage’s more formal fine dining restaurant will feature dishes such as a foie gras short rib doughnut, sweet breads layered with morel mushrooms, and pork confit on a bed of spring vegetables. On the gastropub side of the venue, guests can find everything from fried duck wings and shepherd’s pie to a house bacon board with smoked lamb, salmon, and pork belly.
In addition to dinner, Heritage of Sherborn will serve lunch Monday through Friday 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and brunch both Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 a.m to 2:30 p.m. The Heritage provisions and wine shop, which debuted on April 30, is open Monday through Thursday 7 a.m- 7 p.m., Fridays 7 a.m.- 8 p.m., Saturdays 8 a.m.- 8 p.m., and Sundays 8 a.m.- 6 p.m.
