Kerri Lynch-Delaney Plans a Pizza-and-More Spot, 16C
Today is the end of the first era of Babycakes, a Quincy bakery: Founder Kerri Lynch-Delaney has sold the business to focus on opening a full-service restaurant called 16C.
First reported in an archived Boston Herald article, acclaimed Boston restaurateur Barbara Lynch is helping her niece develop the new venture’s concept and menu.
“She’s my right hand in all of this,” Lynch-Delaney told Eater Boston today.
The baker and her aunt have perfected a pizza dough recipe, and Lynch recently shared a glimpse at some possible toppings on Instagram. According to Eater, 16C’s to-be-determined, American-style menu will definitely feature pies, plus salads, steak tips, and potentially, house-made ice cream.
Elyse O’Connell, also a native of Quincy and a longtime employee of local bakery Fratelli’s, has purchased Babycakes. Lynch-Delaney told Eater she plans to help the new owner with the transition through the holiday season. Construction is underway at 16 Cottage Ave.—the eatery’s namesake—and at this point, Lynch-Delaney is targeting early 2016 for 16C’s debut.
