Row 34 Debuts Casual Sunday Brunch
If your preferred hair of the dog is a sour beer and a couple of raw oysters, listen up: Row 34 is now open for lunch on the weekends. The Fort Point beer and seafood mecca will offer its regular, weekday lunch menu on Saturdays, and it’s introducing counter service brunch on Sunday. It joins new brunches from Committee, the Rattlesnake, and others this spring.
Row 34 has hosted weekend brunch before as pop-up event, with a selection of smoked fish sandwiches on Exodus Bagels. The new Sunday service will emulate that event’s casual style: Guests will order from a limited menu at the bar, then seat themselves in the dining room, porch, or at the counter.
The Sunday brunch menu has a few crossovers with the regular lunch menu, like a snap pea salad with treviso, ricotta salata, and walnuts; and a warm butter lobster roll. There will be raw bar, smoked and cured fish, and crudo and ceviche options, too, plus kid-friendly items like fish sticks. But it also introduces some new breakfast items by chef Jeremy Sewall and his team, like smoked salmon with togarashi cream cheese, capers, and red onion on a sea salt bagel; avocado toast with Jonah crab salad; and banana pancakes with Fluffernutter butter and maple syrup. The last dish sounds like the perfect complement to Hodad, Fiddlehead Brewing Co.’s coconut porter, which is on Megan Parker-Gray’s beer list for opening weekend.
