The next time you’re headed to a game at Gillette Stadium, leave the 30-rack in the cooler and pregame with a flight of tequila instead. Scorpion Bar is now open in Foxborough’s Patriot Place, featuring a sprawling menu of Mexican plates and 125 tequilas on offer.

The restaurant is the newest venture from Big Night Entertainment Group, the team behind Boston spots Empire and Red Lantern Restaurant & Lounge, and GEM Italian Kitchen Night Club. BNEG also operates several venues at Foxwoods Casino & Resort, including the original Scorpion Bar location. They are also the folks bringing Guy Fieri’s Kitchen + Bar to Foxwoods in November.

There’s none of the Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives host’s famous Donkey Sauce at Scorpion Bar Patriot Place, but you will have plenty of other choices. Executive chef Kevin Scott and BNEG chef/partner Kevin Long’s menu features plates like the Diablo Honey Dip, a burrito stuffed with sesame chicken and habanero sauce; and taco platters with options like tinga red, with roasted chicken, queso, avocado, and jalapeños. There will also be rotating daily specials, like huevos rancheros.

If you have tequila on the mind, try it in a house margaritas. Sip the Manana, which tops Avion Silver with sparkling wine; or the French, with black currant liqueur. If the Pats are getting thrashed, you might be better off with the Gronkarita bowl, a large-format marg mixed with silver tequila. Or, you can always shoot it straight. If tequila isn’t your thing, there are agave-free cocktails, as well as a rotating roster of cervezas and wines.

The 7,700 square-foot space has high-definition TVs throughout, including a large, LED projection screen for big games. The restaurant also has two outdoor patios.

Scorpion Bar serves lunch and dinner daily from noon-11 p.m., with bar hours extending to 1 a.m.

You can soon give Scorpion Bar a spin without trekking to Foxborough. The restaurant group is planning to open a third Scorpion Bar in the developing Seaport Square late next year, alongside another, unnamed concept.
