KKatie’s Burger Bar Opens in Quincy
Bostonians have a closer option to try KKatie’s Burger Bar’s award-winning fare: It opens tonight in Quincy Center. It debuted in 2010 in Plymouth, and also has locations in Marshfield and Hyannis. (And yes, you’re saying “KKatie’s” right in your head.)
South Shore Living has named KKatie’s hefty, half-pound burgers the best for three years in a row, with options like a Juicy Lucy, and a new peppercorn-crusted Angus steak patty with bleu cheese, balsamic caramelized onions, and garlic shallot mayo. It also serves bar food go-tos, like steak and bean chili, stuffed quahogs, loaded tots, soups, salads, and chicken sandwiches. It has a full bar, with a martini menu and other cocktails.
In Quincy, KKatie’s will have late-night options daily until midnight, and will host live entertainment on Saturday nights. It is located at West of Chestnut, and it’s a harbinger of a lot of new excitement for the historic, formerly quiet city center, which also became home 16C pizzeria in 2016.
Eight other restaurants are on track to open in the ’hood in the coming months, including Belfry Hall, the latest tavern from the Barbara Lynch Gruppo-trained team behind the nearby Townshend (February); the Fuji Group’s latest, Fuji at West of Chestnut (by the end of 2016); and a second outpost of Chinatown’s Pho Pasteur (before Christmas).
Also on the way: A probably unnecessary Five Guys (January); the Shaking Crab (January), a Creole seafood spot with a location in Newton; Zef Cicchetti and Raw Bar, a mid-January launch from the team behind Quincy’s Alba; Café Gelato, an open concept “gelato lab” from Quincy resident Daniele Buzza (February); and an outdoor courtyard for Cagney’s Pub.
KKatie’s Burger Bar opens tonight at 5 p.m.
