There are a slew of things you can do to celebrate New Year’s Eve: Go out for a celebratory drink, dine out at one of Boston’s many restaurants, and find somewhere to watch the ball drop from New York City. Or, you could attend the opening of Fort Point’s newest pub.

On Saturday, December 31, swing by the Seaport and raise a glass at City Tap House, the area’s newest haven for craft beers and pub fare. The bar soft opens at 5 p.m. that night, and is hosting a sneak peek of its upcoming brunch service on January 1, Eater Boston reported.

This storefront is City Tap House’s first venture in the Northeast, and the chain’s fifth location nationwide, joining bars in Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Florida. The brand is operated by Table 95 Hospitality Group.

The Boston bar boasts a 60-tap draft system, spanning local libations like Lord Hobo and Aeronaut, to Midwest specialties from Boulevard Brewing Company. An additional list of bottled and canned beverages floats the number of available beers around 100. A selection of spirits and signature cocktails is also on the menu.

The restaurant’s food focuses on American pub fare with a list of wood-fired pizzas, appetizers like hot wings and blue crab mac and cheese, and sandwiches like a pan-roasted salmon BLT and loaded City Tap burger. A Daily Supper option will be available throughout the week to highlight specials, like chicken and waffles, and local seafood, Eater Boston reported.

The 6,000-square foot space has a 150-seat dining room decorated with Prohibition-inspired murals, reclaimed wood, and an overall rustic feel. Eleven HDTVs are scattered throughout the restaurant, and an outdoor patio area with fire pits is on standby for the spring.

To start, City Tap House will be only open for dinner service Sunday through Thursday, 5-10 p.m., and 5-11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The bar will pour drinks until midnight Sunday through Thursday, and 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Come February, the bar will expand hours to include lunch and weekday brunch, which you can get a taste of from noon-3 p.m. on New Year’s Day.
