Where to Celebrate Pi Day 2017 with Pie Specials in Boston

Although the impending snowstorm on March 14 looks daunting, don’t let it distract you from the important stuff—like celebrating Pi Day. Even though there are quite a few holidays centered on food (who’s looking forward to National Macaroon Day?), none simultaneously celebrate an endless series of numbers. And that is something both foodies and mathematicians can get behind.
You better act fast, though: Many places are running deals today in anticipation of tomorrow’s forecast. Here are eight spots planning to offer specials in honor the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter.
Please note: Weather could affect these plans, so call ahead if your heart is set on pie on Pi Day.
Blaze Pizza
The fast-casual pizza chain is known to give out pizza as it’s opened new locations in Boston. In that vein, in honor of Pi Day, the chain will let you craft your own pie for $3.14. The company is also hosting a live stream that could land you some free ’za.

The Charles Hotel
Not only can you save on room reservations for Pi Day, but the Cambridge hotel also plans to serve slices of blueberry oat pie for the occasion, courtesy of Henrietta’s Table, and the first floor Noir Bar will have pie shooters.

Flour Bakery & Café
In light of the coming storm, Joanne Chang’s baking empire is dishing out $3.14 slices of pie today and (hopefully) tomorrow. The deal stretches across all six Flour locations, including Harvard Square and Cambridgeport.

Petsi Pies
It’s the challenge every left-brained nerd has been waiting for: if you can recite the digits of Pi, the Somerville bakery will reward you with sweets. Naming 10 digits in a row nets you a free small pie, saying 100 will earn you a 10-inch pie, and memorizing 314 digits will earn you a free pie every season. The festivities start at 1:59 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14.

To celebrate all things pie, the Somerville restaurant debuted a boozy cherry pie milkshake, blended with vanilla ice cream and bourbon. The ensemble is topped with a small slice of the spot’s cherry berry pie.

All pieces of pie will be $3.14 at the vegetarian diner this Tuesday, unless the snowstorm buries the Cambridge area. Discounted slices will include lemon meringue and chocolate cream pie.

Save $3.14 on any take-home pizzas or dessert pies on Pi Day. Given the weather forecast, the fact that there are so many area locations is a definite plus.

For the Northern suburbanites, Williams Family Baking Co. will sell five-inch Pi pies at Jitters Café in Melrose later this week. Owner Craig Williams says he plans to feature flavors like apple, mixed berry, and blueberry. And for the stressed out MIT students anxiously awaiting news from admissions, don’t worry: he has around 1,000 pies headed to Cambridge just for you.
