Flour Bakery Will Open Its Latest in Back Bay Next Month
When the most recent batch of Flour Bakeries were announced, a second location in Back Bay was in the mix. Now, after some brief delays, construction is well underway on the Dalton Street site, and a late April debut is on the horizon.
The upcoming restaurant is located inside 30 Dalton, a 218-unit luxury apartment building situated next to the Prudential Center. The 1,400-square foot, 20-seat Flour will be on the first floor, and will have a small patio area. (The bakery’s first Back Bay café is at Clarendon and Stanhope streets.) A representative for the restaurant says renovations at Dalton Street will finish up in mid-April, and the team expects the space to open the week of April 24.
All your favorites from Joanne Chang’s menu will be available, too, including glorious sweet potato sandwiches, assorted slices of pie, kouign-amann, and plenty of sticky buns.
“The Back Bay is a thriving neighborhood that I’ve lived and worked in off and on for the last 25 years,” Chang wrote in a press release. “We can’t wait to share our award-winning pastries, sandwiches, and specials with this part of the neighborhood in a spectacular new space.”
