Tatte Will Also Open in Back Bay This Winter

UPDATE, January 18: Tatte opens today in the Back Bay. It serves breakfast from 7-11:30 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Friday, and brunch Friday-Sunday from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. (7 p.m. Sundays).

Tatte Bakery and Café is not slowing down: On the heels of a Fenway location opening this fall, Back Bay will get its own pastry-filled Instagram backdrop. Owner and pastry chef Tzurit Or just announced Tatte No. 8, coming this winter to the other end of Boylston Street, near Park Square. Universal Hub noted she was headed there earlier this summer.

“Super excited to announce our two new locations after many months of searching, planning, negotiating, designing, budgeting, waiting, [and] waiting some more,” Or wrote on Instagram.

Tatte is taking over a ~3,000-square foot space, and will have 70 seats inside, plus a “large patio,” Or says. It will offer Tatte’s full range of flaky pastries, breakfast tartines and hearty dishes, salads, sandwiches, soups, and espresso.

Or started Tatte as a farmers’ market pastry vendor, and quickly expanded into a brick-and-mortar in Brookline. Now it has locations in Beacon Hill, Kendall Square, and Harvard Square. In 2016, she sold a majority stake in the brand to Panera Bread to help Tatte “grow the right way… and to be able to bring Tatte to as many people possible,” Or said at the time.

The Fenway location, first announced in February, is eyeing an October opening on the ground floor of developer Skanska USA’s new, 212-unit apartment building. Elsewhere in the company, Tatte is working to implement online ordering; the service is currently available at its Main Street, Cambridge, location.
