With three more locations of her sleek café opening this fall and plans to expand beyond the city next year, Tatte founder Tzurit Or’s fortunes are rising as fast as her buttery brioche dough. Here are the seven things she can’t live without.

MARKET
Brookline Farmers’ Market

“I go to this market all the time to shop for corn, zucchini, tomatoes, eggs, and cheese. I eat only organic in my house, and it’s really important to me, first of all, to support the farmers. And it’s pretty cool that there’s also a wintertime farmers’ market in Brookline.”

KITCHEN TOOL
Rolling Pin

“I’ve had the same one since I was 14. I actually took it from my mom without her knowing. Years later, I confessed. It’s still the one I use today and the one I rolled with when I opened Tatte, before we brought in a dough sheeter. If you’re looking to pick up a new one locally, I recommend stopping by KitchenWares by Blackstones, on Newbury Street.”

INGREDIENT
Mushrooms from RI Mushroom Co.
“These mushrooms from Rhode Island are pretty fantastic, and I’ve never met anyone who is as passionate about them as owners Bob DiPietro and Mike Hallock. They will work with you on recipes to help bring their mushrooms to life.”

TABLEWARE SHOP
Atelier Make

“I buy tableware everywhere I travel. I have a massive collection for food styling, for entertaining, and for Tatte. A great place to buy it is Atelier Make, in Montreal. They have gorgeous pieces, all handmade, and they have an online shop.”

COOKBOOK
A Boat, a Whale & a Walrus: Menus and Stories

“I love the book for its stories. Through it, you get to know [Seattle restaurateur] Renee Erickson and her thoughtful cooking and style. I love that she is so smart and opinionated. It’s connecting you to her world in a very inspiring and thoughtful way.”

GADGET
La Marzocco Linea Mini

“This new espresso machine from La Marzocco was my big treat for myself. It’s basically the same machine we have in our cafés—it’s just really small, for the home. I use it to make espresso shots for lattes and tiramisu. It’s perfect for the weekend, when I have more time and when friends are coming over.”

CONDIMENT
Seed + Mill Tahini

“I love tahini and add it to almost everything I eat. My all-time favorite brand is Al Arz Tahini, from Israel, where I grew up. For U.S.-made brands, I really like Seed + Mill. It’s very creamy and rich.”
