Bread & Salt Hospitality’s Josh Lewin and Katrina Jazayeri, who are set to launch a new European-style cafe, Juliet, in Union Square later this year, have announced that they’re debuting a temporary side project called Gitana today. Inspired by the duo’s recent travels through Barcelona and Seville, the month-long pop-up will feature interpretations of both modern and traditional Spanish cuisine including a variety of local fish and shellfish, hand-carved Spanish jamon, bocadillos, patatas bravas, gazpacho, and more.

A partnership with Cuisine en Locale at 156 Highland Avenue in Somerville, Gitana will occupy the space Thursdays through Sundays from June 18 to July 19.  Open all day, the space will cater to those looking for grab-and-go options as well as a sit-down dining experience. During lunch, beer, wine, and sherry will be available, and during dinner and Sunday brunch, Gitana will have a full bar. Lunch will be served Thursday-Saturday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., dinner Thursday-Saturday 5 to 11 p.m. (plus late night), and Sunday brunch 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

*During Gitana’s soft opening, June 18-20 it will be lunch service only. Dinner service begins Thursday, June 25.
