Kane’s Has Two Boozy Doughnuts For Fall
If the bowls of fun-size candy undoubtedly placed around your office this week just aren’t cutting it, consider a different afternoon pick-me-up: Try a boozy-in-spirit doughnut.
Kane’s Donuts in Saugus and the 60-year-old company’s new Boston baby, Kane’s Handcrafted Donuts, has two, Boston Beer Company-infused riffs on New England classics available this week.
The Sam Adams Harvest Pumpkin Ale Donut is a dense round made with fresh pumpkin and cinnamon, dipped in a decadent glaze of the fall brew and organic, local honey. Angry Orchard Hard Apple Cider is used in the glaze on a traditional apple cider doughnut. Kane’s co-owner and chef Paul Delios makes the glazes himself, the Boston shop’s general manager Charles Lionberg said. The sugar bombs have an altering effect, but you won’t get an alcoholic buzz—the boozes are reduced down.
Both doughnuts are $3.25 apiece, and Lionberg said they’re available at both shops through at least November 1, though they may appear into next month. Like all of Kane’s specialty pastries, they are made fresh daily and sell out fast.
