Brunching is a sport for many, so the fact that Valentine’s Day falls on a Sunday this year is exciting for many. Here’s a list of awesome brunch specials to consider. (We’ll continue adding to this list as new specials are shared.) Looking for a romantic dinner instead? Take your pick from this expansive list. Or perhaps a not-so-amorous meal is what you need?
Commonwealth
If there was ever a reason to roll out of bed, it’s the decadent brunch being cooked up at Commonwealth. On Valentine’s Day, choose from options like kung pao fried chicken with egg, spicy peanuts and Napa cabbage; avocado toast with radish, feta and olive oil cured tomatoes; ménage à trois pork chop, and—oh yes—red velvet Oreo pancakes with house-made whipped cream. Plus, pick up some raunchy Valentine’s Day sugar cookies at Commonwealth Market. They’re delicious, oversized, and have both dirty and tame messages on them.

Bambara Kitchen & Bar
If you’re more of a breakfast person than a fancy dinner connoisseur, you’re in luck at Bambara. Try red velvet cupcakes and pink mimosas, or share a classic breakfast covering all the bases with bacon, sausage, three eggs, a waffle, toast, breakfast potatoes, and fruit.

Bastille Kitchen
Chef Adam Kube’s Sunday brunch will include crab cake Benedict, a Maine lobster omelette, and a fluffy liege waffle.

The Beehive
Head to the Beehive in the South End for their Three Days of Lovin’. Brunch fanatics in particular can engage in their Lover’s Brunch on both Saturday and Sunday.

Catalyst
Anywhere with a “donut of the day” is a good place to be. This Sunday, it’s raspberry glazed chocolate cake round with sprinkles, so it’s perfectly festive. The table can share other options, like sweet and spicy chicken wings; cinnamon buns; chicken liver mousse; and warm cornbread. Not into sharing? Take your pick of plates, like carne asada with grilled corn cake, charred tomato salsa, poached egg, and avocado; or panko-crusted French toast with bananas foster sauce and Chantilly cream.

City Table at the Lenox Hotel
In addition to Valentine’s Day dinner specials all weekend, City Table will also serve up Sunday brunch on Valentine’s Day—a no-brainer brunch for couples who spend the night.

Elephant Walk
Head to the Elephant Walk in the South End for an exotic, French-Cambodian brunch by executive chef Nadsa de Monteiro. There’s crêpe au canard, filled with duck braised in soy tamarind juice, portobello mushroom, crème fraiche, and scallion; and oeufs brouillés au Kapik Khing— cage-free scrambled eggs, pork belly slow-cooked with Khmer spices, and cucumber pickles, served with sage sautéed potatoes. And a brunch without booze is just a sad, late breakfast, so try the brunch Bloodys, made with a mix of chiles, lime juice, tuk trey (a spicy Cambodian dipping sauce), vodka, and the restaurant’s own Bloody Mary mix.

Outlook Kitchen and Bar
Bloody Mary enthusiasts will delight in Outlook’s offerings of six varieties of the classic brunch cocktail, including super-spicy, or mixed with chef David Verdo’s signature steak sauce. The food menu will be equally decadent: lobster Benedict with poached Maine lobster and spinach truffle hollandaise; and Nutella French toast with caramelized chai rum bananas. V-Day is the first brunch service at the Envoy Hotel’s new restaurant, but it won’t be the last.

The Painted Burro
Both days of the weekend, the Painted Burro has a scrumptious brunch, with options like lobster Benedict with chipotle hollandaise, refried beans, and a griddled English muffin. Plus, the regular menu is on offer.

Top of the Hub
What better day than Valentine’s Day to mix up your normal brunch routine? Take it up a notch and head way up to the Top of the Hub. Menu items like shrimp and grits, variations on an egg Benedict, crispy goat cheese and mushroom fondue, and fried chicken waffle sliders taste good anywhere, but especially with a loved one, 52 floors up.
