Ribelle Opens as 1665 Beacon Street Tonight
Tim Maslow is out on $5,000 bail after being arrested at the Canadian border over the weekend, and he’s preparing French bistro fare dinner at his restaurant tonight.
“Not dead yet,” the chef and owner shared in an Instagram post of an annotated menu. “@1665beacon. Tonight. 6 p.m.”
Before the Boston Globe broke the news of Maslow’s arrest on drug charges, he shared some now-deleted Instagram videos hashtagged #ripribelle, suggesting changes were on the way to his Brookline restaurant.
One of those changes was put in motion today: Ribelle’s Twitter persona and Instagram handle have both changed to 1665 Beacon, Ribelle’s address. Ribelle’s website is still live, but the restaurant changed its contact information on Facebook to link to www.1665beaconst.com, Eater Boston noticed. That website isn’t on air just yet.
Per Maslow’s Instagram, tonight’s menu has beef tartare; a king orab omelette and délice de Bourgogne; duck breast with olives and truffles, and other French-inspired offerings.

Maslow was traveling back from Montréal en Lumière, a culinary festival, when he was arrested at the Highgate, Vermont border Friday night and charged with felony drug possession.
At the fest, Maslow cooked alongside Nicolas Ficuciello, chef at Montréal bistro État-Major. According to the Montréal en Lumière website, Maslow served five course meal of “classic Italian dishes, with a dash of Japanese creativity.” That description also applies to the fare he offered at Ribelle.
But at 1665 Beacon, he’s French tonight—and not dead yet.
