Tatte Bakery & Café Is Heading to Fenway
Tatte Bakery’s swift expansion across Boston continues: the café has signed off on a retail space in an upcoming luxury complex in Fenway. Owner Tzurit Or expects to begin service there this fall.
The 17-story building at 1350 Boylston will have more than 200 apartments when it opens later this year, and Skanska USA developers are reserving the ground floor for retail. Tatte will occupy around 2,900 square feet of that space, giving residents a solid excuse to never leave the building.
Once open, the café will be Tatte’s seventh in the area, joining sites in Beacon Hill, Brookline, and the newest in Harvard Square. Since Panera Bread acquired a majority stake in the company early last year, Or has seen her Boston-born company expand, which was the intention. “[Panera is] The partner that will allow us to grow the right way, our way, the Tatte way and to be able to bring Tatte to as many people possible,” she said at the time.
“Fenway is experiencing a tremendous evolution, especially in the last few years, and I saw Skanska as a great partner,” Or wrote in a press release. “We want to be part of and add to the energy and vibrancy of the Fenway, and I will be carefully designing this location to offer our customers an exceptional experience.”
At the moment, the tower’s retail space will still have over 4,000 square feet of unclaimed property. The only thing left to do, as Eater Boston notes, is wait and see who joins Tatte in further sweetening the block.
