Now Eventide Is Popping Up at Uni
Eventide Fenway has made its mark on Boylston Street, but the highly anticipated seafood spot hasn’t quite arrived in Boston. Here’s your latest chance to get a brown butter lobster roll without a jaunt up I-95: The Portland favorite pops up at Uni on Monday, May 15.
Eventide Oyster Co. chefs Andrew Taylor and Mike Wiley are the latest guests in a new, seasonal series at Uni, which debuted in March with New York City’s Ivan Ramen.
“It’s not about us trying to attract different types of food. It’s about us having fun with our friends in the industry,” Uni chef and partner Tony Messina previously told Boston.
Taylor and Wiley, who are up for the Best Chef: Northeast honor at tonight’s James Beard Award Foundation Gala in Chicago, are bringing several a la carte menu specials to Uni for one night only. The pop-up menu includes the cult-favorite lobster roll, of course, as well as “chowder ramen” with a pork and clam skewer, potato, and celery; buttered ramen with maitake and daikon “bushi;” smoked sablefish with a ramen cracker, umeboshi, and tofu; and cod brandade with potato, cauliflower romesco, and ramps. Uni’s regular nigiri, makimono, and sashimi will also be available.
Reservations are now available for the Eventide pop-up, and Uni will accept limited walk-ins that night, too. The Ivan Ramen pop-up sold out in just two hours, so get your name in now if you need a taste of Eventide before it opens in Fenway.
Eventide at Uni, Monday, May 15, 5:30-10 p.m., 370 Commonwealth Ave., Back Bay, Boston, 617-536-7200, uni-boston.com.
