5 Holiday-Themed Things to Do in Back Bay for Every Type of Vibe

You’ve begun to hear it in conversations—and since September on radio and TV—but now you’d better believe it: It’s that time of year again. Holiday season has officially arrived in Boston, and while it can come with some underlying stress (What gifts do dads really want?), it also comes with a Santa sleigh’s worth of festive events for friends and coworkers, special deals for shoppers, and activities for families in the heart of Boston.

Whichever way you choose to prepare for the holidays and enjoy the season, there’s magic to be felt at Prudential Center for fun-seekers of all kinds. Here’s a roundup of all your December calendar must-adds.

The Holiday Stroll

Each year, Prudential Center throws their one-night-only Holiday Stroll, their signature sipping- and shopping-centered event where you and your friends can enjoy an evening of exclusive discounts and promotions at participating stores. This year, the event is taking place on Saturday, December 2 from 4 to 7 p.m.

As you stroll through the decorated corridors of The Pru while following a map of all the festivities and offerings—with your two free drink tickets—you can also take on the challenge of collecting stamps at each participating store. If you do so, you’ll be eligible to win a $1,000 Holiday prize pack from Prudential Center.

31 Nights of Light

31 Nights of Light is entering its 15th year of lighting the top of Prudential Tower in a different color every night of December, representing the non-profit organization that Prudential Center is supporting that night. Whether you’re out on the town or admiring your view of the city from the warmth of your home, this annual tradition adds a festive and meaningful touch to the Boston skyline year after year.

Carolers & Cocoa

Starting December 1, wind down from your week every Friday from 4-6 p.m. with everyone from coworkers to family at Carolers & Cocoa—the two must-have ingredients for holiday cheer. Make your way towards Aritzia in the Boylston Arcade or follow the sounds of a cappella and the smells of hot chocolate until you come upon a crooning quartet performing festive holiday hits. The quartet singers are Songful Artists, professional singers hailing from New York City and Boston, so you’re in for a talented treat.

Santa in the City

What would December be without a chance for young Bostonians to visit Santa? Bring your little ones to Santa’s Pru brownstone at Hynes Court (across from sweetgreen) every Friday through Sunday until Christmas for Santa in the City, where they can share their holiday wish lists, take a souvenir photo, and feel the magic of the holiday season. Photo packages start at $30.

Earl’s Winter Lounge

Check out the Winter Wonder Lounge holiday pop-up at Earls Prudential from November 16 to January 5. Enjoy festive twinkly lights, cozy blankets, seasonal cocktails, and a holiday vibe that will make you want to stay and chat with friends and coworkers.
