Amtrak Is Having an Extremely Tempting Flash Sale
You can buy discounted tickets to New York City, Philadelphia, and more until May 10.
If you’ve been pondering taking a trip this summer, ponder no more. Amtrak is having a three-day flash sale, and its extremely tempting deals on trips to New York City, Philadelphia, and other cities might be too good to pass up.
From now through Thursday, May 10, you can buy discounted tickets for travel between May 29 and July 8. (A July 4th trip to the Statue of Liberty, anyone?) The sale applies to trips between any two cities in the Northeast Corridor, which stretches from Boston to Virginia Beach. Amtrak is touting its ticket prices as the cheapest in six years, with fares as low as $19 one-way.
Trips leaving from Boston aren’t that low, but they’re still steeply discounted. You could hop on a train from Boston to NYC for $39—a trip that usually costs upwards of $120—or head to Philly for $55. A train to New Haven, meanwhile, costs just $29.
There’s a little bit of fine print, naturally: the deals only count toward one-way coach class tickets and are not refundable. Discount codes aren’t needed when you buy tickets online, but flash sale trips can’t be combined with other discount codes. Snatch up tickets before they’re gone at amtrak.com.
