This summer, British football fans will finally be able to determine if they’re more or less obnoxious than American baseball fans when the Red Sox play the Yankees in London at the end of June. In the hopes of expanding their reach internationally, Major League Baseball is pitting the famous rivals against each other for a two-game series at London Stadium. Tickets to the game are already going fast, so if you’re interested and you have $34,995 burning a hole in your pocket, consider signing up for the Hotel Commonwealth’s new Royal Rivalry package.
The official hotel of the Boston Red Sox is pulling out all the stops. First, they’ll arrange for you to see our boys take on the Chicago White Sox at Fenway on June 24, after which you’ll retire to their exquisite 700-square-foot Fenway Park Suite. It’s like a mini ballpark only 500 feet from the original, and it features everything from a Green Monster scoreboard wall to a large walk-out balcony with authentic park seats. Next they’ll give you a $2000 airline voucher to fly out of Boston Logan Airport on June 26, as well as provide private luxury transportation to the airport—complete with champagne, of course.
When you land in London, you’ll head to your suite at the new One Aldwych Hotel. Make sure the black tie attire you packed (you did pack some, right?) is pressed and ready, because you and a guest will be attending the Mission: Gratitude Gala at Kensington Palace. Tickets for the intimate dinner for 300 typically start at $7500 as part of the efforts to raise money for veterans and their families. The program begins with a cocktail hour and ends with a dessert performance from Sting.
The next day you’ll watch game number one of the Mitel and MLB London Series from your premium seats in the stadium’s hospitality lounge, where legendary baseball players are expected to drop by as well as a member of the Royal Family, no biggie.
