IF YOU’RE DELAYED… 30 MINUTES
Try: Hitting the Indoor Playground
Everyone knows an extra half hour with the kids in an airport feels like seven years. Thankfully, terminals A, B, and C all come equipped with indoor play places, dubbed Kidports, that showcase popular children’s book characters and let your little aviator climb and jump around before you take off. Need something a little less stimulating for your little one? Terminal E’s new sensory/calming space, designed in conjunction with the New England Center for Children for kids and adults with autism, includes a flight simulation room to get them used to taking off, as well as interactive features such as lights and bubble tubes.

Try: Retail Therapy in Terminal E
If you’ve got time to kill in Logan’s shiny new international terminal, shopping may be your best bet. Among Terminal E’s retail gems is an open-air concept featuring design touches that call to mind some of Boston’s biggest landmarks. Divided into four “zones,” it showcases high-end sunglasses, watches, beauty products, and fragrances—including a mixology bar where you can dream up your own signature scent—as well as items made in or inspired by Boston. Pick up a new pair of shades, grab some Taza Chocolate or Q’s Nuts as a host gift, and you’ll be boarding the plane in no time.

Try: Taking a Long Walk
Feel like getting your steps in before a long flight—or just want to check out a restaurant in another terminal during an unexpected delay? The good news is you can actually stroll (or power-walk, if that’s your thing) between terminals B, C, and E without having to wait in an endlessly long security line again. So fire up your pedometer and get in that extra mile round-trip.

Try: a Day Pass to a Lounge
If you’re marooned at Logan for a while, do yourself a favor and pay for a day pass to a lounge. “It’s always the quietest place to get work done,” says Tiffany Dowd, a Boston-based luxury travel expert. The hottest one right now is the Chase Sapphire Lounge: Located between terminals B and C, it features food by Mida chef Douglass Williams, a kids’ room, a wellness area (with showers!), and plenty of cocktails. Dowd recommends checking with your credit card company, as some cards come with “Priority Pass” lounge access that allows you to enter for free once per calendar year.
