Quick Emergency Fixes Ensure Bridal Beauty
Although you have a dream day ahead of you, there’s a slight possibility that your big day morning could be a beauty nightmare. Waking up to a blemish, under-eye circles, or a ripped nail calls for 911 emergency beauty action. Channel your inner Girl Scout with these “ready for anything” tips. You’re welcome.
You woke up with: A ripped nail
Fast Fix: Tear off a little piece of a teabag, wrap it around the tip, and adhere it with a coat of nail polish. Then put a coat of polish over it.
You woke up with: A blemish
Solution: A quick hit of Visine can take the red out of a blemish that greets you in the morning. Just put a few drops onto the unsightly pimple, and the redness and swelling will decrease. Then your makeup artist can address the issue later on with her concealer magic. Something to consider stocking – Proactiv+ Emergency Blemish Relief for a fast-acting emergency dose of prescription-quality benzoyl peroxide.
You woke up with: Puffy eyes
Fast Fix: It might sound odd, but if you put a slice of fresh avocado under each eye and lay back for 15 to 20 minutes, the puffiness will be gone. You can also use a steeped tea bag under each eye, or cotton balls soaked in chilled witch hazel or rosewater.
You woke up with: Dark under-eye circles
Fast Fix: Grated potatoes can lighten under-eye circles because they contain an enzyme called catecholase, which is used in cosmetics as a skin lightener. Run one spud through your food processor and stuff the raw mash into a piece of cheesecloth. Apply to the area directly beneath your eye and leave for 15 to 20 minutes. Then wipe away the starchy residue. Note: Don’t let the potato juice get in your eye, or else you’ll likely cry some not-so-joyous tears.
