Winnie Couture Just Opened a New Bridal Shop on Boylston Street

The brand’s gowns have been donned by the biggest names in Hollywood.

Calling all brides-to-be: There’s a new wedding dress brand in town, and it’s bringing Beverly Hills style to Boylston Street with glamorous gowns and an equally dazzling showroom. “We’re so excited to be part of the wedding industry here and to be bringing something new to the area,” says Kristin Zona, manager of the Boston salon.

Los Angeles-based, Hong Kong-born designer Winnie Lee started the label in 2001 along with her husband Chris, dreaming up sophisticated, romantic gowns embellished with European lace and Swarovski crystals. Since then, the likes of Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Aniston, and Lea Michele have donned her designs on red carpets and magazine covers. And now, with the opening of Winnie Couture’s first-ever New England location, her wedding gowns are newly available to local brides.

Clients who book a 90-minute appointment at the shop will be welcomed into the sprawling 1,300-square-foot showroom with champagne, soft music, and soothing aromas from a scent machine. “We try to keep [appointments] light and fun,” Zona says. The space boasts large windows overlooking Boylston Street, as well as mirrored furniture, shiny white floors, and crystal chandeliers. “There’s a little bit of sparkle and glam, but it’s really comfortable,” she adds.

The shop also features three spacious bridal suites where customers can try on some of the 120 gowns carried in store, as well as crystal belts, dreamy veils, and jewelry. In addition to browsing looks from Winnie’s collections, brides can work with the team on custom creations, too, whether that means adding on sleeves, combining elements from two favorite gowns, or creating a totally tailor-made dress. “As long as we can translate it on paper, we can really create a full custom, one-of-a-kind look,” Zona says. “The sky’s the limit.”
